Berry: Not Wasting Money is a Waste of Time

"All these amendments have been ridiculous thus far and have wasted the Committee's time." - Rep. Marion Berry, D-Ark.

That's how a Democrat on the Budget Committee just described the opportunities Republicans have offered Democrats in the course of the debate to stop the largest tax increase in history, to keep Democrats from slashing the child tax credit in half, and to slow wasteful Washington spending by freezing earmarks. It seems as though "waste of time" should join "fiscal discipline" on a list of phrases Democrats just don't understand.
