This deeply disturbing video shows the depth of USMC malignant narcissism when it meets the defense budget $$$ and it demands it get its egotoys, because deep down inside marines cannot parachute jump and they need the V-22 mechanical crutch to get somewhere by AIR since their whole from-the-sea schtick isn't working in a world that moves by the speed of the air:

However, what happens when the USMC mechanical crutch doesnt work?

Corrupt former Congressman Curt Weldon is a hypocrite of the highest order who used his position to get $$$ for his daughters with defense firms like Boeing, maker of the V-22 fuselage:

Karen Weldon, Curt Weldon's daughter, received an undergraduate degree in education and a graduate degree in information systems. After college, she spent six years working on "learning and training programs" for the Boeing Company, which has a helicopter plant at the edge of Weldon's district. A spokesman for Weldon said that he did not help his daughter get the job at Boeing, which is a frequent beneficiary of his work in Washington and one of his top campaign donors.

That a civilian with no military experience would berate someone else in the same boat as him--while pontificating about the military usefulness of the V-22 and marines who wouldn't be tasked to rescue anyone (why we have Delta Force, Seal Team 6...) unless we are desperate shows the gyrene malignant narcissism in its full fecal colors.

Over 140 V-22s have now been delivered to the marine corps, so they now outnumber the CH-46Es still in service!

The 10 they have used as airplanes operating from airbases in Iraq are now worn out and have been withdrawn. They dispatched a Navy ship (LHD) from Norfolk to retrieve them, since they couldn't fly home.

Ten V-22s were supposed to deploy aboard ship last November with the 26th MEU(SOC), but pre-deployment exercises prompted the Corps to cancel that idea at the last moment. Ten V-22 did deploy aboard ship with the
22nd MEU this month. There is no news on how they are performing, but note that the 22nd MEU is not a MEU(SOC) since it failed to demonstrate that it was (Special Operations Capable) during pre-deployment training. It was only the second MEU to fail such certification since the SOC concept began two decades ago.

Despite all the sales pitches earlier this year about how marines and V-22 will dominate the battlefield in Afghanistan, it was learned last month that none will deploy with the 8000-man 2nd MEB!

This means there are only 10 of 140 V-22s deployed overseas, whereas half the remaining CH-46s remain committed to units in Iraq, Afghanistan, Okinawa, and aboard ships. They throw out the "new" aircraft excuse for this, but the V-22 first flew in 1989 and went into production in 1999!

  • haha thats like saying no other helicopters or expiermental aircraft have gone through trial and error

  • The ones that can be fixed were kept, the ones that can't like the XC-142 and the V-22 must be ditched.

  • The V-22 is still fucked up today. This video reminds us we have known this all along but the liars in the USMC persist with this monstrosity.
