Honesty is no Excuse from Thin Lizzy's debut album "Thin Lizzy". Video is a collection of early Thin Lizzy photos, some solo shots of Phil and finally his statue and headstone in Dublin. This is one of my favorite songs and the only other version I found on YouTube was poor quality. If you aren't familiar with the first 3 Thin Lizzy albums (the Eric Bell years), they are quite different than what you know from them. The first (Thin Lizzy) and 3rd (Vagabonds of the Western World) are excellent, the 2nd (Shades of a Blue Orphanage) is one I would only recommend to serious Thin Lizzy fans. Hope you enjoy the song.

  • I saw this fella half a dozen times in the 70's...Had all his LP's ...still have them. All my mates were into Quo and Queen..they didn't see Lizzy.

No one else makes me sad to see and hear them...Phil was a total genius.Sarah..my only daughter was named you know why.The man was before his time.A poet that sang the words.I keep coming back to Phil Lynott.

  • my favorite song from this album!

  • One of my favorite Lizzy songs. As I watch this and listen to the great words of Phil Lynott, the tears come easy. I was 9 years old when I heard The Boys are Back In Town. I have been into many bands over the past 44 years of my life but only once have I ever gotten a tribute tattoo to one of them. That tatto was to the "Wild One" himself, Philip Parris Lynott. RIP Phil. I miss your words and music everyday. \m/ \m/
