Our apologies for posting a 3rd version of "Klintang" in 2 months, however this version is played better and somewhat different than the other 2 practice versions as this was supervised by the composer and national artist nominee, Dr. Santos himself. We were practicing at the University of the Philippines a few days before the national competitions and guess who appeared? .... Dr. Santos! We were honored and humbled and he gave us an instant master class on the finer nuances of his composition. The performance was at the Cultural Center of the Philippines last Nov. 15, 2009.

The piano piece "Klintang" as composed by Prof. Ramon Santos got its inspiration from the kulintang which is a row of 5 to 9 graduated pot gongs, horizontally laid upon a frame with the lowest pitched gong found to the player's left. The kulintang is traditionally played by our kindred Islam brothers of Southern Philippines, especially the Maranao and Maguindanao peoples. It is part of the larger gong-chime culture of Southeast Asia, especially of Indonesia and Malaysia.
So many thanks for listening again.

My goodness Enzo, where do you find all of these unusual pieces that must take you an age to perfect?. This is quite incredible. No wonder the composer was prepared to work with you on the final touches. Fantastic effort. Lots and lots of stars from me.
