Decades of war have left Afghan youth with very limited options for sports and recreation. An Australian man is trying to change that by starting a skateboarding school for children.

such an amazing story.. this is such a great news to us afghans.. on so many different levels.. in 8 years the progress our country has made.. may look very little for a western eye.. but in 6 years of taliban role.. the country went from a 19century to 16 century.. now we have to rebuild it for 21st :)

If I remember correctly the pool they're skating at 0:53 was built by the Soviets during their occupation of Afghanistan. The Taliban later used it to shoot and hang political prisoners. It's awesome to see it being put to some good use finally.

This is amazing. Right now I work for a nonprofit that teaches girls of all ages and abilities how to skate, so this one hit close to home.

I just finished reading "Three Cups of Tea." The story of how one man can positively affect life in Afghanistan.
