@lonhaverly You were kind of a dick to na55mo34 to be honest =/

Actually the video is being a little edited at the end i think so im not sure how long it took.
But still even if its 20 Mins... Its a third of an hour. Something like that would take me forever and id love to learn how to draw like that. My portraits usually take something like 4 hours and its not even close to that. And Since I take so long I use a picture cause i dont wanna make my subject die of boredom! :)

Did not look like her. Face needed to be longer. Drew ears when they was hidden by her hair ???
-
WHAT U PPL DONT REALISE IS THAT ! HE DID IT IN JUST 9 MINS MAN 9 MINS ! FOR 9 MINS ITS EXTRA ORDINARY GIVE HIM AN HOUR AND HE'LL MAKE AS REALISTIC AS THE EXISTENCE OF PLANET MARS ! :)

The model's face is a longer oval, her nose is longer, her eyes are naturally open wider, and her hair is darker.
-
The hatching is impressive.
-
very good portrait i really love it.

You are a great artist sir I cannot draw like you.

@lonhaverly so when drawing portrait, it is not very important to capture the likeness of the real person or photograph? it a question im not try to be smart or anything
he has good technique but does not achieve lkikness with the model ,an thats what makes portrait drawing difficult.you can use that technique when you draw for comics where no likness is required (when using referense material) , but its no real portrait drawing.so little erasing would help, you can not get each line right at first try.

My 100,000 customers would disagree. You, sir, are rude to someone offering free encouragement. Try learning correct grammar and punctuation if you want to sound intelligent.

first of all my apology for my bad grammer, english is not my mother tongue.and than ,i do not want to sound intelligent,i am just expressing my oppinion.i am drawing myself and i know from my expirience that achieving likness with the model is very difficult.you have an excellent technique and the picture you have drawn is impressive, but there is not much likness with the model.you can see with one glance that the proportions of the model are diffrent.

There is more to a likeness than perfect proportions. I have seen so many stiff and ugly photo-realistic drawings. There has to be some of the artist in the work. Most people have me draw them to find out how they look in my particular style, not for a photo-reproduction. THAT is the art and the joy of portraiture. Otherwise, you might as well use a camera. It is the viewpoint of the artist that makes it unique. I hope you will figure that out. You will enjoy your work much more.

I can't believe how immature and childish some of these comments are.
As an artist, I can vouch for how hard it can be to draw just having people watch you, let alone filming, describing, and actually talking along the way.
Having said that, I think the portrait DOES have a likeness to the model, so you're wrong in the end anyway.
Great job. Five stars.

Ha ha! It is odd that people critique this. It is here for encouragement and inspiration, and for education on the very basics, not to prove how good I draw. I really don't care what the critics think.
