. 5 blacks in 13 minutes. I cut out 4 minutes, i was snagged on a rock. Hot day at sunset on 06/17/08. Caught a limit in short order and released at least 6 more. Join http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com
what lb test, set up, and bait do you use? Depth, time of day, high low or slack tide? i presume next to the rocks. I stay there several times each year and have always wanted to fish it. thanks
20 pound test normally. I just recently started switching over to power pro. I just use a 1 -2 oz. jig head with different scampi's and squid jigs. From 20-60 feet. We fish from morning to just after noon usually, the wind comes up after that..Tides are less important then ocean conditions. Closer to the rocks the better except for some peaks farther out, use FF to find structure.
Thay are black rock cod. Some people call them black snapper. They are very tasty and fun to catch. Kayak fishing is awesome fun, quiet, no gas smell and cheap to run.
