I kept hearing that the adistars don't hold up when I was checking into weightlifting shoes. So I got the do-wins. But the big issue is: Did they improve your "pathetic" squat? Hope they did!

well, I only use them to squat (I warm-up, bench, and deadlift in separate shoes) so they have held up very well. And yes, they improved my squat and they were definitely worth it.

there is a website called dynamic eleiko, the official US distributor. They should have a few sizes left, but you can order the newer version or the new iron work (which has the same tread as this older adistar).
