@OreadNYC You are exactly right--it is Miriam remembering her first. The book goes into great detail about these types of vampires. However, the movie is MUCH better than the book, so you were best to just leaf through it. For example, in the book, Miriam and John drive a Volvo because it was the safest car built at the time, not the Lincoln Continential they drive in the movie. Who wants to see realy cool vampires driving around in a Volvo anyway (hahahaha)?

@twiner3 I agree with that . . . As trivial as it may seem , Anne magnison's ( female of the swinger couple ) sensual eyeliner style inspired ME . . . ha . . . But yes , there's a deeper quiet art to the movie that is not so common in most American movies .

@deepbluehue3 I agree that the crucificxion scene from the book is amazing (I teach World History and always think of that detail when we discuss Rome), and I TOTALLY forgot about them being aliiens (another cool fact), but personally I liked to movie better. It had an attitude that influenced my teenager years more than anything else.

@twiner3 I very much loved the movie but preferred the book for story . . . The book went into detail of how her kind were an alien race older than mankind . . . and they had to mask themselves into human guise as they shone bright light in their true form . . . I also very much liked the detail of a man she saved during ancient roman times that was being crucified ( very common at one point in history ) . . .
