I recently purchased one of my dream kits. I am proud to present, a pre-YESS 80's Yamaha Recording Custom.
22x18
10x10
12x10
13x11
16x16
14x6.5 snare.

I will never sell this kit. I am still recording through a laptop webcam for both audio and video, so don't judge the sound too harshly quite yet! I will get some quality audio of the kit up at some point!

  • Great groove!

Try covering the mic on your laptop with like adhesive tape, foam or similar - that will probably help out a LOT.

    thanks for the vid!

  • I used heavy tape, but I will have to try some cloth then tape or something to further dampen! Thank you for watching the video and the kind words!

  • Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @notorioused Thank you so much! I love this song.

  • Solid timekeeping. Your traditional grip looks a bit stiff IMO though.

  • @jemminger Thank you for checking the video out! I agree with you. I am a matched grip player slowly working some traditional in to use when the music calls for it. Wish me luck on getting that Weckl/Vinnie/Buddy Rich left hand going one day!

  • So simple, yet so elegant! You're killing this cover, awesome job!

  • Those are the best Yamaha Recording Custom drums I have heard on Youtube. Nice snare as well. If the Recording Customs are not miked just right they sound like crap...I own a kit..I know. They sound good but live they have to be tuned just right to fit the room, they are not very forgiving.Nice Job

  • Yes I like, not for the recording, but for your talent

  • Love the kit, I have the exact same white RC set with an additional 15' floor tom. I have always loved the white finish, it is beautiful and they sound insane!
