I make this recipe for our Thursday night church services and for Sunday services during Lent and Advent. You could also make it just to eat for any other time.

Recipe:
Sweet Altar Bread

1 c whole wheat flour
1/2 c white bread flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbs. dark brown sugar
2 tbs. wheat germ
2 1/2 tbs. oil
1 tbs. honey
1 tbs. molasses
1/2 c water

Sift flours, baking soda and brown sugar together in large bowl. Add rest ingredients and mix until forms ball. Knead ball slightly. Divide into two balls. On baking sheet lined with parchment, pat out each ball into small circle and roll out until about 1/8 inch thick and about 6-8 in. round. Score with knife. Bake at 360 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove and place on cooling rack to cool.
Enjoy!
