I did this run with AO this last summer. I was lucky to get Adam, who was also my guide for the class 4 Kaweah about 2.5 months before, so I was already used to how he guided.
Running Cherry completed the California Grand Slam for me. (I had already done the Cal Salmon 2 years ago; prior to running Cherry last summer I ran Forks of the Kern and Burnt Ranch [Trinity] .
Scott River and Downieville run of Yuba are next for me; hopefully this Spring although the Scott's problem is WATER!!

No. Sierra Mac, AO, Possible one other company will take back permits and return to running the creek. For now it is only those two. The guides that run this river are the "cream of the wheat". Only 5 or so from each company, all equally bad-ass.
