Work In Progress - MUSIC UPDATE

Hi everyone! I'm not dead 8D
I took a break from music to refresh myself (toughest few months of my life e_e no music writing! PAH! Madness.) but yes, this is a video to let you know I'm ALIVE and well... and I've got a few work in progresses.... Most of it is REALLY old stuff (from before my days on youtube.) that I abandoned and have been sitting in my hard drive for YEARS, and I fixed them up and finished em~ (or I'm in the process of doing so~)

I've made this video to show anyone interested what I've done, and also how I've changed since the first few months I uploaded things onto my channel. There's a pretty big difference. There's even a bit of difference in just the months I've been away , I guess!

1. Godless church (VOCAL SONG)
Philosophical title ;D ... A vocal song I wrote (so not fan made for anything. Just for me~). No vocals will be appearing in this demo however, cause... I dunno. The lyrics aren't finalised and... I sound like a dying cat now. I wrote it to experiment with changing time signatures (something I've grown to LOVE 8D) and practise writing for guitars but that didn't go down so well. Good practise though! And definitely a song I've enjoyed writing ^_^ I may upload it when it's done.

2. Re:Birth
Because I like funny and ridiculous to spell titles. (thanks for that, Square enix.) The first few bars of this song I wrote was.... Well.... WOW. Ages ago. Probably in early 2009. When I was a music writing noob. However, you don't hear that part in the snippet I put on for you~... I put on one of my favourite parts. I love all the clashing in it. (for lack of better musical term....*doesn't know anything.*)

3. Forlorn Hope
DRAMATIC TITLE~ not. What the heck-a-doodle was going through my mind writing this? ... it sounds like me. By god, it sounds absolutely like the music I like to write. But ... thinking back, I just don't know how I came up with it. I was trying to go for something fast and frantic sounding, but I'm not really sure how I did. I'm not too familiar with music like that outside of my own writing.

4. Abyss (VOCAL SONG)
INTICING TITLE~~~~~ no. I started this song a while back, to write it as a fan made theme for resonance of fate (because I read a comment saying they wished the game had a vocal theme and I was like ....challenge accepted.) I was going to put my vocals in this snippet, but in the WIP I did, I had a cold. I'm not showing you guys that. In place, I made a version with strings and the violin substituting the my voice.

5. KIRAI KIRAI (VOCAL)
Title = HATE HATE. Yeah. (BAD SINGING/MIC/RECORDING ALERT.) This one also has lyrics. I wrote this for myself as well- for fun, but I wrote it to embody certain emotions. The lyrics in this snippet ARE the real deal (the recording isn't though this is my 9:24 pm singing. The bad, sloppy, slap dash, stick it together in 2 seconds singing.) and they are in Japanese.... I PRAY my translation is correct... *sweatdrop*

6. To Be Reborn
Myterious title~ wuahahaha.... Because I'm keen to showcase both the slow and the upbeat parts of this song, I'm showing a minute's worth for this one.
Anyway. This is another one that had previously been collecting dust on my hard drive and I finally got around to doing something with it, and.... It's great to listen to the start and hear how I used to write.... And then at the end.... It sounds like the newer me. Anyway. The snippet in here is what I wrote more recently. I'll upload it soon~ I wrote it to sound a little like a FFXIII Versus track, because I had a dream about the game the night before I began rewriting it xD

7. Lucifer (VOCAL)
Title = nothing to do with the devil, it's a METAPHOR~....le gasp, more awful demo singing. My apologies! Anyway, the stuff I'm singing in this is just jargon (which is why there's a lot of clashing words in there...I'm making a LOT of 'T' sounds aren't I? o-o). It's basically how I write music. I sing and record it in nonsensical languages (often I throw in a few Japanese sounding words and some Latin if I feel like it.) until I write the lyrics, but really... it means nothing. (though you can hear me saying 'Rushifa' (lucifer...) at the start. If you speak fluently in Japanese, PLEASE do not tell me what I am probably accidentally saying... I don't want to. know xD

Thank you ^_^ I haven't heard the piano collections yet...not properly that is. I gave some of them a brief listen though :'D but yeah, it does sorta have that bounciness at the start. that's different now I think, cause I recently changed a few bits of it. Ooh~ I really look forward to hearing some vocal works from you then~ :D

Ah, I got an upgrade to windows 7 which got rid of my Sibelius so I had to get sibelius 6 ^^; I don't liek the strings sound bank at all T-T

Wow! So happy to see you back Rin! Forlon hope's intro sounds almost identical to FFXIII Piano Collection's Nascent Requiem XD!! Everything else sounds so gorgeous though! I adore your style *__*. Great job creating japanese lyrics for Kirai Kirai! The vocal works are stunning, Im planning to do some vocal works as well ^_^. Btw...are you still using Sib's sound bank? It sounds different but that could be because I havent heard Sib in forever >_<!! Welcome back Rin *super hugs* <3 ^_^
