Unless the child is already familiar with the sound of each letter, this is not reading. It is reciting from memory the sound association with the image of the whole word. Teach her phonics or her "reading" ability will be limited to how many word shape-sound-pairs she can remember.

Read the books and get the kit to help you start off. Doing maths with my boy now at 2 years of age and he's started to pick up French and Spanish as well as sign language. Don't waste your child's best years for learning. It doesn't even out as time goes on. The synaptic nerves being formed now are going to be a great foundation.

So how does it work? I'm thinking about picking up the book to read. Also would my 3 year old son be to old to start? I started useing your baby can read videos but he grew bord of those so I started using Hooked on Phonics and he always asking me to do school work. Do mind telling me a good way to start while I getting the book? Thank so much!
