@SuperWildside Yes. I saw the new "Brand New Sin" last year at the Rock Shop in Fayetteville, NC for my birthday...expecting this lineup. I was extremely let down, and when I talked to the new guys, they didn't have much good things to say about Joe. Kinda pissed me off.

@Samik081 Animals didn't write it; they covered the song by Leadbelly. House of the Rising Sun is originally a folk song, though.

This is really good!! This is the ONLY cover that i have enjoyed of this song. The singer really did a good job. A lot of people can't take that strain, and he took it like a champ.

great song and version

the animals just have the best known version

The lead singer now performs solo in syracuse NY under the name 'just Joe'!

@Samik081 the animal's did not write that song, it is an old folk song.
The most successful version was recorded by the English rock group The Animals in 1964, not written by them. Fix your title. the authorship of "The House of the Rising Sun" is uncertain. Some musicologists say that it is based on the tradition of broadside ballads such as the Unfortunate Rake of the 18th century which were taken to America by early settlers.

Well, the title says "folk song", however this is a cover of The Animals' version. I don't see anything wrong here.
