Nice to see a Lutheran say "read Calvin's Institutes", even if the point of comparison is an outdated band from the 90's.

And what about Apollo Creed? He wasn't bad. In fact, he was the champion of the world.

I've got another one for you to do a spoof on: "Doctrine divides". It drives me nuts when I hear this! So is the person saying that they then have no doctrine? Or that there is no doctrine that they would be willing to stand on against another person? Either way crazy!!!!

@john91722 Great post. That is exactly why the creeds were written, to protect the church from incoming heresies and allow Christians to state what they believe in a nutshell. Most churches have creeds, they just call them statements of faith; though some are pretty generic such that even a non-Christian could believe/recite them.

@TheLutheranSatire I agree, but there definitely are much worse things.

@TheLutheranSatire Boys, boys, they're both horrible. Now play nice.

Meaning: The word "denomination" starting with the word "demon" and thus all denominations are "evil" (as touted by some non-denominationalists).

Could we see something on "demonation" please?
As a Lutheran pastor, I totally love being told creeds are bad. I love even more as I explain to them that creed means "I believe." But I don't get this irrational hate of the band Creed. It's not like they are Nirvana, who is really, truly the overrated band of the nineties.
