the problem with the original bowing is that no one can do it without making more noise than pitch - probably paganini could -
but bravo for trying!

@damianc80 Stefan-Peter Greiner, violin maker in Germany.
-
he will be needing a wantan noodle soup after that
-
What violin do you play on? it sounds like a great strad or Guanieri
-
those are the left fingers, slapping very hard on the fingerboard. in many cases, like when descending quickly on arpeggios, very hard to avoid -- it's instinct to keep the taught string down between notes. one of the very few times you'll hear the "percussive" elements to a violin! and unintentional, of course... but like I said, hard to avoid.
-
@hellosir95 then, you ask him to use the same bowing technique and compare them again.

nice attempt

@ningfengviolin Excellent job with the original bowing! Great sound...superb playing. Thank you!
-
bravo!
Does anyone what that 'ticking' sound is at 2:02?
I don't think it came from the audience, cause I heard the same thing on Itzhak Perlman recording of this piece from his 1972 album.

yes, that's from the left hand, like a pizz. but of course, unwanted.
