Amen, Sister Imogen! I speak from experience here. I hate this treatment so much I would not even wish this on the mofo who shot John Lennon. This is SERIOUSLY sick, sorry. Donna Williams, an author with autism exposes this for the BS that it is. So does Catherine Maurice in "Let Me Hear Your Voice." This sick method does NOT cure autism and I'd rather have SEVERE autism that be put through this EVER again!

This is a sick treatment by fringe crackpots and does NOT cure autism! I am a survivor of this method and when I say I'd rather smell a bulldog's ass than be put through this, I mean it!

I held my autistic daughter, now 26 as a child. She was aggressive, would act burned if touched. I held her with minimum of force, she bit kicked and clawed. At the end of the holding she relaxed. In therapy all I ever asked her was 'look at me,what are you afraid of' After a few sessions she started to change, she began to look to me for help. If she frightened or upset she would say 'look at me' indicating she wanted to be held. My daughter is still autistic,but a happy independant adult.
