I'm thinking of going to S. Korea to teach this upcoming school year and was wondering if the locals with have a problem with my wife being Japanese because I know they have a long history (unfortunately not good history) dating back hundreds of years. I've amongst various countries and cultures around the world and tried to adapt the best a Texas could and I tell my wife the two countries could learn a lot from each other.

Thanks for posting this! I hope to get a teaching job in Korea for early next year and this answered a few questions that I've had trouble finding elsewhere. So again - thank you!

@bbang1989 I don't think there's much difference. Many are offered online. In person classes are rarer but do exist.

@importedmegami I noticed a lot of employers require all different certificates; which certificate should someone get? TEFL, TOEFL or TESOL? Thanks!

@2tashie My recruiter's name was Juno but she unfortunately no longer works for Korvia.
I live in Osan and to be honest it's pretty lame. Nothing here, really. I often leave to go to Seoul.

@importedmegami Hey I am also planning to teach ESL in Korea and am looking for a legit recruiter to go through. I have been checking out Korvia based on your recommendation. Who did you use in Korvia?? Also I don't know if you talked about this in another video or not but where do you teach? And how do you like that area.
Thanks for being patient with my many questions!

@importedmegami is there a difference between a TOEFL or a TEFL? and where are these courses offered?

@bbang1989 I can't remember at this point... maybe $250?
I just bought the 100 hour TEFL package and I'm excited to complete it. I graduate in a year and I'm off to Korea.
