It was too bad she wasn't born 4 or 8 years later when event specialists were OK. She could have been like Alicia Sacramone, where she'd never have to do bars, and could just focus on her 3 strong events.

Wow her technique is fabulous! She is like a cat , I mean that in a good way because her balance is precise and she always sticks her landing.

Even though she was plagued with uneven bar and coaching issues, I have always admired her. I really love seeing her do well after all of her struggles

@BravesGurl1983 I totally agree! If they had put in another release move right when she started having trouble with it, who knows what a difference it could have made. I really wish she had been born in the next quad when specialists were utilized more, she wouldn't have even had to compete bars, she was good enough on the other three to have been a huge asset in 2004. At least she's coaching now, and working as a choreographer, she seemed to be really good at that.

yeah, I hated how Steve fussed at her in 99 (?) US Championships on the 2nd night when she fell again... She was obviously upset and he just kept on and on and on saying "it's the same thing every time, blah, blah, blah..." well, if he knew it was the same, take the dang move out! If she still wasn't hitting it 2 years later, it's time to put another release in and do away with that one... But I guess it's easier for us to see that years later than it was for them at the time...

@BravesGurl1983 yeah I did watch it, I posted this prior to watching it. I still think that her original problems started with the Rybacki's, but Valeri was a huge issue as well.

actually, if you watch her on that show "Starting Over", WOGA and Valeri were a lot of her problem in 2000. She was really unhappy there. You should look up Starting Over with Vanessa Atler on youtube somtime...
