K, I'm not doing hydroponics just doing it the old fashion way. I just want the best results for what I'm doing. Thanks for the info :)

@hydrocultivater Thanks for the compliment! I moved this grow to my balcony due to the warm climate, but will start another grow in the winter when it's a little cooler.

You did a really good job setting up your system. In fact, I find it very innovative.You definitely made the best use out of your bookshelf! Also, the veggies that you are growing looked really nice and healthy. Good luck!

@chockagreenfield Thats the growing medium (hydroton) used to support the roots & plant base.

@hydroponicsdiy Does Mylar reflect light better than aluminum or something? Kind of in the middle of creating an indoor grow room.

@chockagreenfield Mylar is very durable and is great at reflecting light. Aluminum (tin foil) is also good at reflecting light, but tends to reflect more heat. This could create "hot spots" that will sometimes burn your plants. I would suggest a bright white paint on the walls instead tin foil.
