I share your pain about introducing characters. I think it dawns from the fact that nothing we ever write will match up to what we think the scene should reflect. As for my current problems, I got stuck on a particular segment which accidentally revolved around three completely different characters types having an argument.
Boy that gave me a headache!

8,000 words so far. I'm right on track.

@austinmcconnell Absolutely. I'm actually pretty pleased with how things are going, difficulties aside. I'm kind of hoping to hit 100,000, but that does depend on how material I'm going to have for it.

I've been a bit stuck (my word count says otherwise... but it's true) because a friend has challenged me to write for the market, rather than write for myself. So I'm trying to write something that isn't as dark as my usual work... and that's hard. It's really difficult for me, to write something... upbeat... I think that I'm over that because I wrote quite a bit today, but we'll just have to wait and see.

@elspethallison Sounds like we're both in the same boat... writing outside of our comfort zones. Let me know how everything goes. You can do it!

Kinda? Nothing like a daunting task to crack open the self-doubt. You are going great. Keep it up and stay focused.
