Letter to America

Daniel Hannon is a Conservative Member of the European Parliament.

Despite Fox News' attempts to suggest otherwise, he is not representative of the views of the people of the UK, nor of politicians.

The National Health Service is considered by the significant majority the UK to be a National institution that we are proud of. If any major political party went into an election with proposals to make changes or financial cuts to the NHS they would be committing political suicide and almost certainly lose the election.

@drshlotzkin I pay my taxes here in the UK, I pay my national insurance, I pay for my healthcare which I can afford to pay, I dont for nessecery treatment and what I cant afford to pay, people here can choose to pay for private treatment if they wish, but if they dont or cannot afford, they remain able to have treatment.

Healthcare isn't the fundamental argument, stop playing on peoples’ emotions. This is about using force to take money from someone to give it to someone else. We became the greatest country with the greatest healthcare (before massive government involvement) not based on a commie/socialist ideology. In the past when we had charity and church run hospitals NO ONE was turned away AND NO ONE had to wait. Don’t feed me this shit of government run healthcare.(cont.)
