Official music video for the US mix of the single "Rubberband Girl" written by British singer Kate Bush.
"Rubberband Girl" was the first of four singles to be released from Kate's album The Red Shoes. The song was released on 6 September 1993 and peaked at number 12 in the UK Singles Chart.

@0MirrorGirl . . . hi. this is the video for RBG for the USA market. I think it was made just after tltctc. If i have the story correct, mtv-america didn't want to play the original rbg video, so kate decided to make this one

This video was released for the North American market, which was then saturated with the kind of "shaky camera" technique that was thought "edgy" at the time. The original video for the UK and other markets is much more straightforward. There was no "higher concept" to present, no overt movie tie-in.

i prefer all the original songs by far...but its her work, so she can do with it whatever she likes. i do however look forward to actual new work of hers. its been too long since Arial was released....ill be waiting to be inspired...and if it fails to do so, ill have plenty of old cd's and vinyl of Kate to fulfill my needs :)
