Ripley had a rough life...

This is why I love her as a hero..

All the shit she had to deal with in her personal life and then to be thrown into the events of series makes her life all the more tragic.

Yet despite all this it her resolve that gets her through. No magic amulets or super powers. Just her sheer will to survive.

Of all the deleted scenes in Aliens, I miss this one the most. It gives us important background info about Ripley and her motivations. Without this scene, her later attachment to Newt in the movie seems to come out of nowhere.

She must have had her eggs frozen or something cuz the space travel even with FTL would have made her daughter -40 some odd years before she took off for work.

I'm surprised how many scenes aren't in the theatrical version, I saw the director's cut first and I loved it, can't imagine how it would be without these scenes. But people enjoyed it so I guess one way or the other it's still an awesome movie.
