  • Bigger does not mean better. Would you rather cruise on the Queen Mary 2 or an oil tanker?

  • @Maxobillion... Smaller does not mean better either. David was not attempting to make a statement that bigger is superior - completely moot point on your part.

  • Holy !@#$%^&*&^%! I played a FAZIOLI 10' 2" but

I had no idea anyone made piano's this big.

What's the retail price? Nice to hear Scriabin

Op.33, No.1. I think you are the first pianist on you tube to post this. Nice work. Maybe you can post your concert.

  • This is the largest piano out there really... David's recent price was quoted at $650 grand.. Thanks for the nice comments - there's a possibility I'll throw a few pieces from the concert up. Messiaen Preludes 1-5, Michael Garson Homages to Ligeti and Messiaen, Scriabin Op. 33/1 and 37/3 with improvisations on each, Bill Evans Turn out the Stars, Clare Fischer Liebesleid.

  • I don't know about this piano...It's really long and really loud.

If someone wants to pay 650k to have the biggest piano in the world than all the more power to them. But there are so many concert grands that cost between 100 and 200k and frankly sound far better than this. Steinway, Faz, Bluethner, Mason, Bosie, Bechstein...

They might not be 12 feet long but they don't need to be.

D's are 8'11 and 3/4 of an inch and they are perfect for just about every venue in the world. Only 130k!

  • @GooglFascists Then the Boesendorfer 290 Imperial should have the same lenght as this piano, mainly for C0 resonance purposes.

  • One thing sure the bigger the harp in the piano the longer the strings,

and longer strings give more bass resonance & power.

Its amazing how the big concert grands boom out the sound when

    played by an expert.

  • Sounds prety much like a well preped Steinway D concert grand

  • I have been a piano technician and Steinway specialist since 1994, so I guess I am slightly prejudiced, but to me there are only two kinds of pianos...Steinways...and everything else.

  • big grand pianos are rich mens' toys

  • bigger definitely better, just listen to the bass sound

  • @Squ1rrelkilla yeah. only 130k! hahaha

  • @Squ1rrelkilla no offense but you are basing this on hearing it in person or on a youtube recording of a piano in a workshop?
