Here is some video taken with a GoPro helmet camera of my 29 May 2011 ski descent of Denali. It only covers the descent from 20,320 to 14,200. The rest of the ski descent took place about a week later.
Enjoy!

  • I used Dynafit TLT5 boots and TLT speed bindings. The TLT5 boots are the lightest most 'climbing-friendly' AT boots on the market. Swap out the liners, though. The stock ones are not nearly warm enough for Denali.

  • Thanks for the video! I am going there in May 2012 with my brother to try to do the same. One question: is a camp at 17,200 needed? It would be great to ski down all the way to the basin and not worry about gear higher up....

  • Well, you can hear what it's like to try to breathe and 20,000 and man you hear the ice too.

Thumbs up to you for this effort.

  • Get fixed soon man then you can get back on those ski's!

  • what kind of binding boot setup would you need for this?

  • Spectacular to say the least.

  • You are my hero.

  • Thanks for the footage, Ed!

  • insane dude!
