My rat is going for surgery on Monday.. he has a tumor on his chin.. but also has a slight wheeze.. I put him on medicine about a month ago, but he still has a slight wheeze.. how good are his chances?

youre a rat hero, thank you for what you do.. there are so few true rat vets that know what they are doing:)

@JoselleJoy123 Are you serious? Of course it could happen to humans... Different types of tumors, but yes. They are given medicine to help them heal and to help the pain.

@FLAVICOLE Do you mean he had a head tilt? because this is a sign of myco in rats.

ouch look at the one on its leg! that must've been so annoying lol

My little girl is at the vet as I text this. She has a tumor. I just wish there werer more vets that would patake in "exotics" And of course there are skeptics out there that figure why spend $150 on a $5 dollar rat? The same reason people spend thousands on their dogs I guess. We love em!

there are many reason´s why i love youtube -and this is one of them!here you can get acess to this kind of video´s and see what this kind of treatment is about.normally and when you bring your pet to a vet, you can´t see the procedure -at least not in my country!
I recently took my pet to the vet because he had been leaning to the right, they said he either had a brain tumor or had a stroke and my only option was to have a mri which is 1200-1500 dollars or take some vitamins so i did, is there any treatment for me to get rid of a tumor in the brain if he has 1? thanks

no, there's not much you can do, just give the medication your vet gave you and cross your fingers.

What causes these types of tumors and are they common? Are they adipose?

They are usually benign mammary fibroadenomas and they are very common in older female rats.
