  • do you think it is worth it to sell a 1972 upright ampeg bass for a birdsong

  • @AidanBassPlayer Well I'm not familiar with that particular bass, so I couldn't really make that call. I own two Birdsongs now, though, and I firmly believe they are the best basses for me hands down. I don't really care one way or the other about short scale, so that's not even it for me. It's just the sound, the feel, the craftsmanship, and all that love they pour into making them. It makes a difference.

  • Great playing, and awesome sounding bass! The Birdsong Cortofusion is definitely on my wish list.

  • It's a dream to play, so it's perfect for a wish list. Thanks so much for adding this video to your favorites. :)

  • Hell Yeah! Scott used to be my guitar teacher andd now he makes incredible basses

  • Scott's an incredible force of nature making incredible instruments. And though I've never sat down for a lesson of any kind with him, I consider him one of my main teachers.

  • I own a Cortobass and it is an excellent Bass in short scale. Quality PUs, quality electronics and machinery. Quality wood, ergonomics, excellent proportionate weight. Quality styling and construction but most importantly: One Kick ass Neck.

The feel of the neck is simply inspirational. Great bass.

  • Thats incredibly catchy! Love the bass and the sound. If you don't mind me asking, how did you pay for it? I've had my eye on Birdsong for awhile.

  • Those Birdsong basses are pretty damn sweet...

  • nice basses from a cool company, get one if you like, but there will always be nice products in the future, luthiers building special basses etc.

Don't kid yourself thinking this is an "investment". It's not :-)

  • What's this guy talking about?? "needs cleaning up"? This is awesome!

  • needs some cleaning up bro but nice ideas.

  • I really need a Cortofusion... So amazing.

So warm like a P, but has it's own woody tone.

Of course the bass isn't without a great player!

    Nice playing

  • My guess is that Birdsong Cortos, Sadhanas, and Hy5's are the most collectable basses in limited production today. They are ALL "Hand built" in a 2-man shop and will NEVER be mass produced as long as they under the stewardship of Scott Beckwith. He needs to retire someday and may be forced to sell the Company which will use the name but will never be the same instrument again. Word to the wise - IF YOU EVER HAVE A CHANCE TO BUY A BIRDSONG..scoop that fucker up!!!
