Hokies Rally To Take Down Wolfpack In OT

It looked like it was going to be another disappointing home loss for Virginia Tech, but A.D. Vassallo and the Hokies rallied from 18 down in the second half to force overtime. They eventually knocked off NC State 91-87. Ryan Call of palestra.net has the recap.

NC State took 39 FT's in this game...Tech took 30. Both ridiculous numbers but I'm not sure how NC State fans can say it was unfair when they took 9 more FT's...

Every foul called could be justified after look at a replay. The intentional foul call and the foul on Dennis Horner leading to the steal could NOT be justified after replay. The intentional foul call was determined to be the wrong call so case closed.

Well I sat behind the bench at NC State's games for four years and never heard Herb Sendek or Sidney Lowe say, "Fuck you." I heard Gary Williams, Seth Greenberg ,Coach K, and Paul Hewitt use those words though. Just because VT had a bunch of fouls called on them does NOT mean the refs tried to give NC State the game.

you're a dumbass. that block deserved a technical foul???? and the "steal" directly after to give the hokies an 8-0 run? you're full of shit. that's why you don't have any specific plays to point out. there's a reason you can't find a clip of the "technical foul" ANYWHERE online....because everyone knows it was bullshit.

Fuck both of you. That was the most bullshited game I've ever seen. The officials we're GIVING N.C. State the game. The Hokies truly earned that win. Oh, and about Greenberg yelling "fuck you" at the officials, go to any NBA game or College game and sit behind a team's bench. I guarantee his language won't be too pretty when the officials are giving the other team the game and calling horrible fouls.

The ACC officials who called this game were flat out influenced by Seth Greenberg and made some of the worst calls ever seen in the game of basketball. Call it excuses or whatever, NC State wins big if the officials would have called a fair game. Yelling "fuck you" numerous times at the officials should not be tolerated and Seth should have been tossed in the first half. Enjoy your win, HOKIES, but you certainly did NOT EARN it!

i like how these hokie reporters fail to mention anything about the phantom technical foul and no-call reach-in foul ("steal") that gave the hokies that 8-0 run midway through the second half. i think it's a shame what refs are doing to the game these days. obviously they were intimidated by seth greenberg, who never stopped yelling "fuck you" at the refs. more evidence is the fact that the all-time leading scorer in the acc is gonna end up getting most of his points from the FT line. truly sad
