BEST SOUND AT 480p Guilty by Russ Columbo 1931, recorded from the original Victor 78 rpm record, played on a Dual turntable with Shure N-78 cartridge, and played through a McIntosh tube type stereo receiver. There are other videos titled Guilty by Russ Columbo that are in error, the singer is actually Al Bowlly.

@maynardcat Cool... we have the same stylus then. First thing I thought of when mine arrived was, "OMG I need a spare stylus for it too" I'm so obsessive about these things... I have two spare stylii for the jukebox and a complete set of spare tubes for it. One never knows when these things will conk out, especially during the middle of a house party!

Great recording. I do love that Dual TT... I have the same Shure N78 cartridge/stylus in my spare headshell for the Garrard in my Dumont console. My stylus casing is green, I can't quite see yours is it green also?

@75capriceconvertible Hi Bill Yes it is the Green N-78 Stylus. I just found another N-78 stylus tonight that I forgot I had. Always good to have a spare. This is the Dual 1219, some of the other videos posted are using the Dual 1229, which has the stroboscope.

Excellent copy! This recording was made on September 3, 1931. Russ was only 23 at the time. HIs voice shows an uncommon maturity. Is it any wonder why he was such an inspiration to so many popular vocalists who came after him.

@LeanUmbers Hi Thanks for the information, and I agree Russ Columbo is an outstanding singer, and the best I have ever heard. I have never heard another male singer that can carry the melody with such perfection, warmth and depth. He was truly one of a kind. If I locate any more of his records I will be sure and upload them with the best sound quality I can for others to enjoy.

Nice clear copy of Russ singing one of his signature songs. The youthful sound of Russ' voice and its smoothness are very distinctive features. What a great popular singer.
