My stepsons dad passed away and i have picked up the ball that he left behind and have been there for my son all along the way.. I didnt have a dad comeing up and i am giveing my son what i never had... Any man can be a father but it takes a real man to be a DADDY!!!!

Father is a word that you give to the person that helped your mother have you. Father is what you call a person who will leave for hours at a time. Father is what you call a person who can walk out and not feel a thing. But, Dad is what you call the person who was your father, and is now your friend. I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have a father AND a dad. God's grace be with you all.

@fenneckenstudioes - I have 3 girls all 61/2 years apart with different dads that have nothing to do with their daughters. I will never keep anything from them about their dads. I'm sorry that your mom has kept all that a secret from you, I would never do that to my girls. Good luck with everything!

I lost my mother on july 5, 2011. I have no clue who my father is at all and this song just makes me cry. I has a DAD that would never change anything in my life for. It takes more to be a DAD than a FATHER.

@Castilleroad please break the cycle girl. My mom has kept everything about my biological father a secret also,because he left her in 1975 when i was born. She is bitter but that is not fair to me and my sis.We dont even know what he looks like. im 36 yrs old and could pass the man on the street and wouldnt know it. She holds the answers but refuses to tell. there has been a hole all my life. dont do it to ur kid

This really hits home with me. My fiance died when I was 5 months pregnant... he has never met our son and my son will never know what his dad was like... it saddens me... but when he smiles at me, I see his dad and he's really good at making me laugh when I wanna cry!!<3 I'm so blessed to have him!
