Sure,you can lower the cylinder head - if you know someone with the necessary tools & experience. If you add some sportish exhaust manifold and exhaust system as a whole, you could gain something like 10 - 15 hp with that kind of compression ratio. The question is - is it worth the effort/financial means and the risk? Plus with higher compression you get a higher wear and tear... Dunno whether this version has got e.g. the same or somehow reinforced pistons,rods,crankshaft?btw:kaj poseduješ?:)
The possibilities are endless :) No, seriously, I don't think it's worth the money/the effort necessary. The alluminium intake and the exhaust manifold will be extremely expensive if purchased thru renault, plus I'm not sure whether the manifold will match a standard K4M (though it should...) changing the compression ratio (=lowering the cylinder head) might be tricky and if not carried out properly might cost you another grant. I'd rather fit a 2.0 16V Turbo in...that would solve it for me :)
@michalbeast ahoi :)
After long time. i didn't do anything with my engine. My mechanic was in rally team, but still not worth of money. I've got Clio II (2001) 1.6 16V

I was thinking for only changing the compression ratio. from 9:1 to 10:1 like this engine.
