@seanf4i maybe its because the people in the state mostly agreed with proposition 8.hmmmmm.what a novel concept.the majority voted it in,and so the law went through.very novel idea democracy is,dont you agree?I think the people outside the state only care because they havent bothered to ask the people inside the state what they thought.

Has anyone else noticed how quick some are to call others "hateful" or "bigots"? It's easy to use these words, and it incites anger, but it is untrue in the case of Mormons. As for the revelation that was received that ALL worthy men could hold the priesthood, this was something that leaders of the church had been praying for 4 a long time. And there is a similar instance in the Bible when Jesus told Peter it was now time to go to the Gentiles. Anyone familiar with THAT instance of "racism"?

One of the problems in this country is that Americans are wrongly taught that churches and religious people shouldnt be allowed to participate in States rights. THAT IS NOT WHAT JEFFERSON, WASHINGTON, ADAMS, FRANKLIN, AND OUR OTHER FOUNDING FATHERS TAUGHT. American public education system is failing our children. We are bound to repeat the mistakes of the past if we dont know what those mistakes are so we can avoid them. We will be another Rome before too long.

The church has never had a policy that those of other skin colors than white were "less" than those who are white. That is one lie omiolo1 may be referring to. As for CA not being their state, what does THAT mean??? Mormons werent the only decent people who stood up against this becoming a law. We will never back down from supporting righteous causes. It will NEVER be OK for same sex marriage because that is against God's plan for his children.

Because the Mormons donated a butt-load of money from all over the country to enforce Prop 8. The real reason people are mad is because the Mormon religion got involved in a state issue that wasn't even their state. People want religion kept out of politics and right now, the Mormons are in the spotlight. $20 million is a lot and could have gone to better things. That's mainly why they're pissed at the Mormons.

wow. why is this happening in nyc? and why only target the Mormons? Ive seen more protesting against, and only against, the Mormon church outside of California than from within. Its that, that I dont understand. why target only Mormons? I haven't seen one other religion, or race for that matter, protested against.
