@emuwithrabies Booker Ervin and Charles Handy are on tenor saxes and Shafi Hadi is on alto sax. You are probably referring to the lead sax that has a soulful signifying feel to it, and my guess would be that it is probably the late great Booker Ervin, may he rest in peace. He was Charles Mingus' main saxophonist in the late 50s and early 60s. He led his own groups until his untimely death from kidney disease at the age of 39 in 1970. Mr. Ervin's albums as leader are outstanding. The Book cooks.

It's actually "Better Git It In Your Soul" (You could change the title anytime.)... Pardon me for slightly correcting you here. Anyway, a wonderful track, and anyone who posts such timeless music can be called my friend. For more great swingin' jazz, check out my blog. It's linked with my profile.
Best, and keep it up!
