Watch as I model each of my new Fedoras ( notice that they appear and disappear from the wall behind me, in order ... lol.. kind of a funny little effect ).

A little History on the hat we all love so much.
The word fedora comes from the title of an 1882 play by Victorien Sardou, Fédora, written for Sarah Bernhardt. Bernhardt played Princess Fédora in the play, and wore a hat similar to what is now considered a fedora. The fedora after that became a female fashion which lasted into the early part of the 20th century, when the fedora then became a male fashion item. A fedora is a felt hat that is creased lengthwise down the crown and pinched in the front on both sides. The creasing does not define the hat, however. Fedoras can be creased with teardrop crowns, diamonds, center dents, and others, and the positioning of pinches can vary. The brim goes all the way around the crown and can be left raw edge, finished with a sewn overwelt or underwelt, bound with grosgrain ribbon, or finished with a self-felted cavanagh edge. Fedoras can be found in nearly any color imaginable, but black, grey, tan, and brown are the most popular, this does not however, define them.

Interestingly enough, we also owe the TRILBY hat to literature. The Trilby hat is a soft felt men's hat with a narrow brim and a deeply indented crown. Traditionally it was made from rabbit hair felt, but now it is made from other materials, such as tweed, or wool. They are similar to fedoras, but with a narrower brim. The hat's name derives from a play based on George du Maurier's 1894 novel, Trilby. A hat of this style was worn on stage during the play's first London production.

  • @flatcapman I really love the look of a Homburg as a matter of fact. I own two from the Bailey felt collection. I liked the style and so bought two of the same hat, one in gray the other in brown and they do compliment a suit quite well :)

  • @HUNTERWORLDNATION Awesome stuff mate. I was over in the UK and tried on a hat that you would love totaly boss in. It was a Homburg. I could very easily see the hat, your goatee with a gentlemans smile and a 2 piece suit.

  • @flatcapman Cool :)

I just added a few caps to my collection. I have a real beauty though from Goorin Brothers, from their exclusive 1333 Minna collection.... Ran me $85.00 (which I think is very high for a cap) and it's worth every dime :)

  • @HUNTERWORLDNATION I have a few hats but the bulk of what I wear is Jeff caps. I own around 90
