    The violet based shampoos and conditioners do not continue to lighten the hair. They are staining the hair and canceling out the yellow tones. Basically the more porous,bleached, damaged the hair is, the more it will absorb the violet tones and cancel yellow brassy tones. If the hair is really damaged and porous it will pick up too much violet and look grey. It is a good idea to mix the violet based products with either no colored regular shampoo or conditioner, to dilute them a bit especially
