Water dropping helicopters from the Los Angeles County Fire Department spent the day dropping water on a fire burning in the difficult-to-access Bear Creek Canyon area of Mount Baldy. This helicopter, along with others, obtained water for the firefighting effort from a small lake in Upland.

  • Why should it need to float? As long as the water intake can hit the water to pump water into the holds, why take up extra weight with pontoons?
