Rock was the first to call him that back when Rock was part of the Corporation. Being a Corporate suck-up, Lawler took to calling Kane that too, and continued to do so after Rock had stopped. Lawler eventually stopped using the word "retard" altogether, most likely because it was no longer considered politically correct.
