Paul Potts sings this very well. It was his debut public performance. Katherine Jenkins seems truly happy that he is there,and Paul is as shy and gentle as always.

Iam afraid this guy is not that good ,he is very weak in his middle range ,hundreds of tenors can reach the last note of Nessun Dorma .If he had not been on Simon Cowels show nobody would have heard of him .shows what rubbish people will watch .He is outclassed by Katherine Jenkins

Well, that seems to be the view of a certain group, but he has shown true longevity, and his voice is much better than this performance. And I believe I've determined a truth, Many opera "elite" (said derisively) seem to view voices like the specs on a piece of stereo equipment, which say nothing about the experience of listening to that voice. Many of us find his voice to be uniquely beguiling and pleasant, but there are alternatives if you don't feel that way.

Oh my god. That is one of the worst things I have ever heard. Anyone that thinks that is good knows nothing about music. I'm sure he is a very sweet guy but come on. He is a terrible singer. Franco Corelli had very little trainig too but he sings like a god. Paul Potts is whats wrong music today. The talent doesn't really matter.

TD: Certainly you have aright to judge PP any way you will, but you are employing hyperbole. Paul has never claimed to be at the level of established opera stars. He only claims he wishes to do what he loves. His talent level with singing, objectively would easily in the top 1/10% of all mankind.

In Germany we have a TV commercial with his performance at Bitains got Talent..it's actually the first time, that a like a commercial this way..this guy is totally stunning..I haven't seen anything like him before and the story behind him impresses me even more.. Paul you're great!

Following opera for years and for the few of those who have ascended with their so called perfect pitch, I found most of them to be rather cold in their technique and lacking something that Paul has, the ability to reach the heart and bring warmth to each song despite the occasional pitch twitch. The sum of the parts are exceed everything.

I'm a working stiff, and Paul brings a tear to my eye every time I hear him sing. I've never ever listened to opera, I don't know about training, technical perfection or any of that crap. What I see is an inspiration. I saw a man that was almost ready to walk off the stage the first time he preformed, but he made it through and when he walked off the stage look on his face said F-You to all those that said "You're not good enough".

Paul does have a good voice, just not a great voice. You can hear the untrained technical part of his voice. He needs refining., such as control, He seems to strain rather than have a natural flow of his notes.When you hear this compared to Pavorotti what a difference you hear.  Also he seems uncomfortable with people, very stiff.

That top B is always badly sustained when he sings it. Either or that or it goes really flat. Then again, Paul Potts is a shit singer anyway. What decent singer shakes their head up and down for vibrato? Not to mention he's not always in tune.

Paul blows all the "good opera singers" away. Of course, just my humble opinion. But as MaxTheCrystalSull said, passion and emotional connection to the music is so much important and you can feel this in every single word...
