To be fair, my experience tells me that there is a lot of cutting of corners when it comes to safety standards in China. My family bought an apartment in Weihai two years ago, and visited it while it was being built, and I was shocked to see people working on the outside of the building, 15 floors up, no safety restraints. One person just stood up there to grab anyone who MIGHT fall. Is that safe? My dad told me that is normal there.

That's not a fair thing to say... you are S. Korean, and your country has completely reinvented itself after Korean War, from 3rd World to economic superpower in only 50 years... but Koreans are one race of people there are way more in China, not to mention more people in general. Korea also gets so much help from United States...
