i did a ball bearing with a 0.17 layer height also i used one ring that keeps the balls in the right distance. that wont leave huge space when you spin it

The UP! Plus 3d printer has option of 0.2, 0.25, 0.3, 0.35 and 0.4mm layer thickness, this one is printed with 0.25mm layer thickness.
What printer do you use?

Was this hard to make or was it just something you put together, figure out the program, and start using

The ball bearing is not hard to make on the UP! 3d printer. It is just printed in one go.

Would it be possible to use the printed part as a molding cast for casting plastic material?

If you use PLA material, then the printed part can be used as a molding cast part. Now the UP! 3d printer already supports printed with PLA material.

Yay! The more affordable 3D printers, the better! The makerbot is cheaper and more precise but I like how this is small and easy.
You need to make better videos though -- the background music is horrible and you spend too much time watching the print process and too little time on the final print out.

actually it's called a "ball race". they come in two varieties: "Trapped", or "Free", because the actual balls are in a channel, where their movement may be directed & controlled. The design is very old. This technology may soon be viable in actual large-and-small-scale manufacturing, tho hopefully without the vaseline visuals and softporn soundtracks.
cause i wd just throw up repeatedly if anything i encountered in my daily life made these bio-hazardous sounds
