You said that *you* have no plans to create such functionality; however, you don't spend even a moment to dispel the notion that the addon can be made to do it.

So, groovy.  You don't plan on introducing that functionality, but can it even be done?

@ashman165 Not really without the user's consent. Both players would have to have the addon installed, which means they would only be able to see EACHOTHER's RealID. First, they would begin to notice the effect fairly quickly. And 2nd I belive Blizzard will fix this security loophole before any such addon can become wide spread in usage.

Gearscore is real bullcrap. equip a mage with attack power items ..you'll have 6k gs and deal no damage..

humans can do what an addon just cant.. build equip fitting to your class/talents.

Why would the add-on author worry about whether other people may or may not have the intention to do something? It is perfectly reasonable to respond to claim of what one's own software may do, it would be unreasonable to state that other people do or don't have the intention(s) - that would be as they say in court, hearsay, of which the first person (this add-on author) has no direct experience.

i love gearscore, without it i would have many low-geared playeers in my raid, it determines how good your gear is, now, I am full Naxx geared (LoL) and i want to join ICC, the group leader who is LFM is in stormwind, i am in dalaran, now how can he inspect me from there? i just tell him i wanna join and BOOM, somebody who is not ready for icc has joined.. now let's fail. My point is, it isn't all about skill, Partly it is about skill but, The gear is the battery to you skill. it gives you boost

I'm not going to lie, I was "that kid" who got picked last in gym class. I fully understand the hatred many people feel against elitism.

What I don't understand though, is why people blame the tool and not the situation that requires it. I didn't hate the kids for not picking me - they were just being realistic (I'm terribly inept at athletics).

No, I hated the schools for forcing me to play dodgeball instead of learning things that are actually useful to me and suit my interests (like math).
