What people have to actually realize is... Graeme Downes is a literal genius within what he does

Interpol? Pffft. Interpol is mere child's play compared to this

@oooISPYooo They are students of Gustav Mahlers music thats how they do what you describe well.

@ants4rocket I've got "you're just too obscure for me" it's a great album, and it was that line from death and the maiden that really made me take notice.

@thejoydivision1 hmmm.. I listened to a bunch of Interpol songs, and this seems to sound A LOT more like the verlaines than Interpol to me

ditto!

@ants4rocket I meant 'song by the band Interpol'. This song captures their sound.
The best Interpol song they never wrote. I remember how strange this song sounded when it came out, it was well before any Joy Division revival, and was drastically different in tone from the sound of the times.

I feel suddenly ignorant - what does 'interpol song' mean? I've never heard that term.

"All the clouds keep hoarding all their air-borne oceans -won't fall." "You're starving and I got nothing to feed you -renegade good intentions turn to scorn" I really love this band!

This song blew me away when I heard it on "You're Just Too Obscure For Me." Like so many Verlaines songs it drips emotion, and Graeme wearing his heart determinedly on his sleeve.
