Since I went back to Palawan, it has been my dream to go to the Cuyo group of islands and experience the Cuyonon culture first hand... So last January 2008, my cousin and I went to Cuyo, Palawan..

It wasn't just the natural beauty of the island of Cuyo which made us enjoy our Cuyo adventure, it was Cuyo's rich history and the warmth from the Cuyonons which made out trip my best trip in 2008.

Cuyo and its culture will be featured in the upcoming film entitled "Ploning" starring Judy Ann Santos.

  • I can understand few words but my siblings & I were not taught the language nor forced to use it since we were born here in Manila.

I was able to visit Cuyo once in 1995, that was after my grandmother passed away. They're from Tucadan.. as far as I can remember.

CUYO is a PARADISE on it's own! Sad to say, I wasn't able to return. I hope I can go back soon!

  • hi jeoff...im sorry it took me a while to reply to your message...i guess we have the same story (in terms of not being taught the language) and same goes for a lot of us...

it's still amazing though that you still find the time to check out videos about the cuyonon culture on youtube...

  • cuyo is indeed a paradise and the people's culture is unique and a true testament to the richness of the filipino culture...

  • im sorry i haven't been able to produce more videos...but i hope i can interest you with a project of mine...it's contemporary cuyono rock music...i made a separate youtube channel for it...in this project, i supported a rock band composed of cuyonon musicians making music in cuyonon...please check the youtube channel TheBulyawMariguen...

  • This messages was copied and paste here from my fathers account in Facebook. I am a Cuyonon in blood. Have been taught to speak it when I was a toddler (because my guardians at that time were my cousins from Palawan). Unfortunately I lost that dialect which now I speak Tagalog or Kapampangan. I hope soon that my own family will comeback there as our father is retiring next year. From the clan of Bautista we are extending our thanks and admiration for the producer who make this possible. -eben

  • This resort is adjacent to one of our small portion of LAND which belong to my parents. It consists of many big rocks--color black & gray and much woodlands & vegetations at that time..!

This was made during the time when Mr. Honorable Fausto Acero was the Mayor of the Municipality of Cuyo, Palawan.

  • This place has a diagonal & ascending steps made of concrete of 4 meters wide of almost 100 feet above. If I'm not mistaken, it has 186 steps.. You can run faster when you're on a descending or going down, but it's ON YOUR OWN RISK if you did it...!!

Much better you run on a climbing style than when you ran on going down...!!!!

  • This "LITTLE BAGUIO" is a resort in the heart of Cuyo/Magsaysay, Palawan; during those olden times although is not a replica, is somewhat a little resemblance of Baguio City..!!! It's concrete court ground is conducive for outings, picnics, parlor games, etc.

Korek me if I'm wrong..!? Pero tenged nga taga dian akeng nanay, animan aelaman ko nga kundia manda ang pagkabetang doto...
