While shooting some still photos off of Makapu'u Lookout on Saturday morning June 2nd, I noticed a guy attempting to take off with a Parasail. From 8:55 til 9:04 he tried and tried until he finally got airborne.
I shot this handheld with a Sony T7 and the sound was nothing but extremely annoying buffeting wind noise so I mixed it without sound.

  • Beats me, you would not catch me up in one of those....I've seen too many guys in those drop in the water or crash and burn on re-entry down there....

  • Our buddy Ex-Green Beret Ken Berry (not bad for 65, eh?)

  • This guy looked a lot younger than 65....

  • The launch at Makapuu is called 'Manic depression', it's one of our better ones. But, once your up it's never, never land. You can fly all day and night in the trade winds...

  • This is a great video.

You have a skilled eye, and the pictures you make display that in spades. I'm still wating for a skilled photographer to image snowfall at the summit of Hualalai ! Regards, Hilawi
