2005 Pontiac GTO vs Dodge Challenger SRT8

Went to test n tune at Pittsburgh Raceway Park tonight, pulled into the staging lanes, and pull next to a Hemi Orange SRT8, My Jaw Dropped.

Got to run him twice, his first run was a 14.6 due to not operating the autostick properly...

Second run I went 13.11 to his 13.49

I am a 2005 Automatic GTO with full exhaust and street tires, he was bone stock with 1,200 miles on the clock.

these r the mods i found on this guys page that gto is not stock he is trying to fool all of u hahahaha he just wishes his gto would hang when it was stock

@mattsimmons ok i kno u didnt use your 100 shot but you have a lingenfelter air intake which makes a gto even more badass plus the ported throttle body and you hook well with drag radials so id say that he hangs pretty close to you for being stock not saying i dont like your car dumbass im just sayin ive seen plenty of 06 and 05 gto's get stomped by the 6.1 liter hemi both stock......

@juiceInTheDurango It was before the ported throttle body and cold air intake which didn't make much of a difference if any. I was on genuine street tires lol, you can see the wheels my drag radials are mounted on in the 11.88 video or any of my more recent videos.

So let's recap shall we; built by Holden (bought by GM in 1931, 17 years before Holden's first car), on a German chassis, powered by an American V8. What this is then is a car that was essentially born in international waters. You can have your Monaro, this one is a GTO.

the challenger was a late take off. i wouldnt drag race an automatic unless it had a supercharger.

@GO302 What you say is correct but STOCK FOR STOCK GTO WINS AND !%K CHEAPER BRAND NEW... Now a days they are going for 17-19k with low miles and challengers are going for 25-30 still and still slow........

@seven7one1six6 if you look up some modern muscle or car and driver shootout matches the GTO was best in class Sports car evenly matched a 6.0L GTO with a SRT Challenger and GT mustang granted the Stang Handles Better but with a curb weight close to 4K LBS and the Challenger over that its even and each matchup stock for stock gto won.... basically dump even amounts of money into them GTO wins every time not much else to say but do some research GTO's may not have impressive looks but Rock
