  • At work I have been forced to use Inventor2009 to do all our design. Coming from SW, Inventor seems very behind in its sketch aids, user interface and overall performance. What most annoys me is sketching, SW reads my mind when sketching, I barely have to do anything, Inventor has very little autohelp in sketch mode. Calling IV garbage is a little harsh, but look at Solidworks and Solidedge, they both have new cutting edge technology which Inventor is only coming out with now.

  • Thanks for the detailed follow up. Now we know where you are coming from.

  • Inventor and its derivatives are garbage. Doesn't come close to comparing with SW.

  • You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Can you provide specific? Identifying deficiencies is th e first step toward improvement.

  • Autodesk says: "To ensure the best experience for those participating, the download of the technology preview is limited to the following geographical locations: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.

Go and fuck yourselves then... I'm going SW!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for your candid feedback that provides a specific recommendation for our next step.

  • @khatiba you need to take a look at Inventor 2012. It blows SW away!

  • My previous comments are directed to IV2009 and earlier, IV2010 seems to be quite improved in the areas I mentioned previously. I should have been more constructive with my first comment, IV is generally a good software but changing environments is very frustrating.
