Y.O.G.A. for Youth at Watts Learning Center (May 2010)

Y.O.G.A. for Youth implemented a yoga and meditation program for sixty 6th grade boys and girls at The Watts Learning Center in South Central, LA.  The center is adjacent to the largest and most volatile public housing project in the County of Los Angeles.

Y.O.G.A. For Youth will teach eight yoga classes each week for twelve weeks, with 4 classes for boys and 4 classes for girls.

An evaluation of the program will be conducted during these 12 weeks to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Y.O.G.A. for Youth program for our 'at risk', inner city youth. The program will also be documented on video with interviews captured by staff, students as well as a professional film crew.
