Jonathan Davies beats Derek White to the ball in the Five Nations games versus Scotland, February 20th 1988.
Total 'something from nothing' score that the amateur era was apt to throw up.
Wales went on to win the game 25-20 in an excellent match. This included the 'Merlin the Magician' try by Ieuan Evans.
That reverse pass...wow.

Davies was a freak....also he was a good defender as well, which does not get mentioned becuase of his attacking talents.

Davies was as sharp as they come, saw the No8 defending the line and slipped past him like he wasn't there, vision, touch and pace. A fantastically talented all-round player, and a true great...wish there was more of his trys on YT, could watch him all day!!!?

As I remember, it was 1988 wales v new zealand second test, wales turned the ball over and after a bit of genius from Mark Ring running it in his 22, Davies went practically the length of the field to score. Would love to see this on YT if anyones got it??

Was always a legend. I recall a try he scored when NZ were beating the Welsh like 50odd to 3 and Davis copped an intercept and no one could get near him
